2007 BMW 3 Series Mechanical Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

He landed back in town, took the shuttle to short-term parking, and his 2007 BMW 3 Series wouldn't respond to the fob at all. He pressed every button, held it near the steering column, tried the backup slot. The CAS module wasn't recognizing the key and the doors were locked.

The dealer could see him Friday. It was Wednesday. A tow from the airport garage would run $210. He found EZ Car Keyz online.

I was at the airport garage within 40 minutes. Once I got the door open, I connected my IM608 to the OBD port and read the CAS module. His key data was still in the system but the fob's internal rechargeable battery had completely failed and the transponder wasn't getting enough power to respond. His smart key, FCC ID , was a -button CAS3 fob that needed a new battery cell and a resync with the immobilizer. I gave him a spare for the glovebox so he'd have a backup next time.

He drove home that same evening. Total was about 95. Dealer would have been 200 plus $210 towing plus two days in a service queue. His BMW never left the parking space he pulled into a week earlier.
