It was a Saturday night near The Collection in Oxnard, probably around 10pm, when the call came in. A couple had been up at the rooftop bar and came down to the parking structure to find their 3 Series completely unresponsive to the fob. No lock, no unlock, nothing.
They had the emergency key blade but had never actually used it before. The blade is hidden inside the fob body and you have to know where to press the release to get it out. They drove home that night. The dealer would have meant leaving a BMW in a parking structure all weekend and scheduling an appointment that probably would not have happened until midweek.
