Over in the Via Marina neighborhood in Oxnard, I got a text from a woman at one of the doggy daycares. She needed a spare emergency key for her 2012 BMW 3 Series and she had done her homework.
VIN was in the text before I left my last job. Registration photo right behind it. And she had her one working key in hand.
With that VIN I already knew her car was running the CAS3+ module, HU92 key blade, ID46 chip. I had the correct blank prepped in the van on the drive over.
On site I connected my VVDI2 to the OBD port, read the CAS3+ ISN, and went straight into add-a-key mode. Because she had a working key present, the system didn't fight me. No module removal, no bench work. Cut the HU92 blade on my Condor XC-Mini, programmed the transponder, synced the remote buttons. Lock, unlock, trunk.
Total time from parking to handing her a tested spare: 22 minutes. She was back inside before her dog was done playing.
