A parent in the Pleasant Valley area of Oxnard called me from the parking lot of an optometrist on a Tuesday. Her 2011 BMW 328i needed a replacement key. Cut the HU92R emergency insert blade on site, paired the new fob, and synced comfort access so the door handles responded to touch.
Then the part that takes patience: testing. Lock, unlock, trunk release, panic, comfort access pull on every door handle, push-button start from both front seats. I checked the dash for any stored faults in the CAS module. Clean.
She sat in the driver's seat, hit the start button, and just watched the tach sweep and settle like she was waiting for a warning light. Nothing came on.
Tuesday call, Tuesday fix. She picked up her kids that afternoon. The dealer route would have meant almost a week without her car plus a tow to get it there.
