Stuck ignitions on Honda are one of the most common calls I get, and dealers love turning a $200 problem into a $600 one. The ignition cylinder on older Civics, Accords, and CR-Vs wears down over time. The wafers inside get loose, the key starts sticking, and eventually the customer thinks the whole ignition assembly needs replacing. The dealer will happily sell them that.

A night school student at the community college lot in Thousand Oaks had been fighting his 2005 Honda Accord ignition for weeks. His total was 185. The ignition works smooth again, the key turns clean, and he didn't replace a single part that wasn't actually broken.
