A trail runner out near Wildwood found that out the useful way. He was parked at a hiking lot, maybe 20 minutes outside Thousand Oaks, and somewhere on the trail his key had worked its way out of his shorts pocket. Gone. He watched the whole thing from a few feet away, still in his running gear, just waiting to see if it would actually work.
It did. Car started in the same spot it had been sitting all morning.
He mentioned later he had looked up the dealer option first and the math on a tow from that location alone made him uncomfortable, before he even got to the key price. Coming out to him was the whole point.
