2015 Honda Accord
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2015 Honda Accord Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I come to wherever the car is sitting. You drop me a pin, I drive to that pin, and the job happens right there. Parking lot, driveway, trail pullout. The car stays put.

A trail runner out near Wildwood found that out the useful way. He was parked at a hiking lot, maybe 20 minutes outside Thousand Oaks, and somewhere on the trail his key had worked its way out of his shorts pocket. Gone. He walked back to the lot, checked his car, and that was that. No dealer anywhere close, no shop he could walk to, and the car wasn't moving without a key.

He texted me a GPS pin.

I loaded up the van with everything needed for his Accord and drove out. The fob the car was originally paired to was gone with whatever trail it landed on, so I went through the full process on-site: backed up the immobilizer data as a precaution, decoded the door lock, cut a fresh key blade, built the new fob, and ran the programming through the diagnostic port right there in the dirt lot.

He watched the whole thing from a few feet away, still in his running gear, just waiting to see if it would actually work.

It did. Car started in the same spot it had been sitting all morning.

He mentioned later he had looked up the dealer option first and the math on a tow from that location alone made him uncomfortable, before he even got to the key price. Coming out to him was the whole point.
