Got a call from a physical therapist stuck at her clinic off the Conejo Oaks neighborhood in Thousand Oaks. She had patients booked wall to wall, her 2013 Honda Accord EX-L was dead in the lot, and the dealer told her earliest availability was three days out plus she'd need a tow. Then I plugged into OBD on the DLC port under the dash, pulled up the immobilizer module, and re-registered her existing fob. All four buttons came back: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. I also cut and programmed a spare so she'd never be in this spot again.
She came out after her 1:00 patient to two working keys sitting on the front desk. Her car never moved from the spot. The dealer would have meant a tow, days of waiting, and a full day of cancelled patients. I was in and out during a lunch hour for a fraction of what they quoted her.
