2021 Honda Accord
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2021 Honda Accord Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A doctor over in Pacific View called me from the parking structure on the Ventura hospital campus. His shift had run fourteen hours and his Accord's only fob had given out while he was inside.

He had no backup, the car was sitting on the fourth floor, and the nearest Honda dealer told him the earliest appointment was two days out. He was standing next to his car in scrubs, not in a position to leave it there or negotiate with a service desk.

I pulled the van into the structure and parked next to him. The van carries the cutter, the programmer, blank fob shells, and CR2032 stock, so the structure wall just became the back wall of my shop for the next forty minutes.

He watched me build the replacement from the shell up, pair it to his car through the diagnostic port, and confirm every button before I handed it over. The emergency blade went in last. We tested door entry with it just so he had confidence in the backup, which is the thing most people never think about until they are standing in a parking structure at the end of a long shift.

He drove home. The dealer appointment never happened. That is usually how it goes when the car cannot get to the shop and the shop can come to the car.
