A family staying at a rental near Windsor North neighborhood in Oxnard called me one evening. They were visiting for the week, had one key for their 2002 Honda Accord, and it had snapped right at the bow while turning the ignition. Half the blade was still stuck in the cylinder.

I got there around 6:30. Extracted the broken blade fragment from the ignition cylinder with a hook pick. The transponder chip in the plastic key head was fine, the break was just in the metal. That is common on these older Honda keys because the brass blade gets fatigued over time, especially if there is a heavy keychain pulling on it.
I cut a new HD106-PT blank on my Condor machine in the van, matched to the original key code pulled from the lock. Then I cloned the ID13 chip from the broken key head onto the new transponder using my VVDI Key Tool. The car's immobilizer saw it immediately. Green key light flashed and went out. Engine started clean.
The whole thing took about 25 minutes in the driveway. No tow, no waiting until tomorrow, and they paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted.
