1995 Kia Sephia
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

1995 Kia Sephia Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A grad student near Presidio called me on a Tuesday morning. She had a 1995 Kia Sephia and her only key had cracked at the bow, the part you grip. The blade was still intact but barely hanging on, and she was nervous to use it again. She had already called a dealer, who told her to tow the car in. She assumed that was just how it worked.

It is not how it works.

I drove out to her apartment complex, pulled out the decoder, and read her door lock directly. No original key needed. Each wafer position tells you the cut depth, and once you have that, you cut the replacement key to match. The whole thing took about twenty minutes at the car.

She had a working key in her hand before she finished her coffee. No tow, no service writer, no waiting room, no guessing when the car would be ready. Just a metal key cut to her lock, tested, done.

The dealer comparison came up on its own when she asked. She had already gotten the quote. She just shook her head.
