A long time, with basic care. The transponder inside these keys is passive, meaning it has no battery and no moving parts. It does not wear out. The remote side runs on a CR2032, so swap that every couple of years before it gets weak enough to shorten your range. The thing that actually fails on these over time is the key shell itself. The plastic around the blade pivot and the battery cover tab takes the most abuse.
