I decoded the lock, cut the blade, and had both fobs working before his wife arrived to pick him up.
He drove his BMW home that night with two working fobs. Total was $185. The dealer estimated $395 plus a tow and nearly a week without the car. The stolen fob is electronically dead now. Once the key memory is wiped, the old fob is just a piece of plastic with a dead battery.
