I got a call from a customer parked near the tailor shop in Eden Gardens, Solana Beach. Her 2010 SRX had been started by another locksmith about a week earlier, and for the first few days everything seemed fine.

I programmed a correctly matched replacement fob on site, verified all five buttons, confirmed the push-button start was consistent through several cycles, and made sure the backup blade in the fob was cut to the vehicle. The whole thing took about forty minutes including diagnosis.
She saved a good chunk compared to what the dealer quoted her, and this time the key was actually right.
