2016 Cadillac SRX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call on a Sunday afternoon from a guy near RB Town Center who'd been searching for his only fob since that morning. He'd had the 2016 SRX since he bought it used, and it came with one key. That's it. He checked the boat, the garage, every jacket pocket, and came up empty. The SRX was sitting in his driveway going nowhere.
He'd already called the dealer. They told him Monday at the earliest, possibly Tuesday, and he'd need a tow since there was no key to move the car.
I was there inside an hour. No key means no door handle to pull, so I picked the lock and used it to decode the blade positions on site. Cut a fresh key to match. From there it was connecting through the OBD port, running the all-keys-lost procedure on the immobilizer, clearing the missing fob out of memory, and enrolling the new smart key from scratch. I registered two fobs while I was at it so he'd have a spare this time.
The SRX started right there in the driveway, same spot it had been sitting all day. The whole job was under an hour. He mentioned what the dealer quoted and just shook his head. The mobile route saved him a good chunk, and he didn't wait two days or pay a tow truck.
