2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from someone up in Ramona Highlands who had been driving her 2001 Cavalier on a spare for a while. The original fob stopped locking the doors reliably, and somewhere along the way the spare key got lost. She was down to one key with a fob that only worked if she stood close enough to touch the car.
She had already called the dealer. They told her to bring it in, said they would need to order the fob, and gave her an appointment about a week out. She found me the same afternoon.
I came to her in Ramona Highlands. The fob battery was the first thing I checked. CR2032, nearly dead. I swapped it and the range came back immediately. She had been living with a bad battery for months without knowing it.
The spare key situation was a different job. I cut a replacement key blade to her vehicle and got everything synced up on site. Lock, unlock, all four buttons confirmed before I packed up.
She mentioned the dealer price almost as a joke. She had already saved a good chunk just by not waiting a week.
