2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
He had been out of town for a week. Parked in the economy lot, took the shuttle to the terminal, did his trip, came back, and the Cavalier just sat there ignoring him. Lock button, nothing. Unlock button, nothing. The fob was completely dead and the doors were locked.
He called the dealer first. Two days out for an appointment, and they wanted him to tow it in. Then he called a tow company. The quote they gave him for a pull out of the economy lot was more than some people spend on a full month of groceries. Then he found me.
I was at the lot in under 40 minutes. The fix on a 2002 Cavalier remote is not complicated once you know what you are looking at. The CR2032 had given out completely. I swapped it, ran the resync, and tested all four buttons: lock, unlock, trunk release, and panic. Every one of them came back clean.
The thing that made him laugh a little was how fast it went once I got there. He had spent more time on hold with the dealer than the actual repair took. He drove home that afternoon instead of dealing with a two-day wait and a tow bill on top of it.
Sometimes it really is just the battery. And sometimes you just need someone who shows up.
