1996 Ford Taurus
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

1996 Ford Taurus Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

There is a multi-level underground parking structure off a side street near La Mesa Village. Low clearance, tight turns, the kind of place a tow truck driver takes one look at and starts shaking his head. That is exactly where a guy called me from, standing next to his 1996 Ford Taurus with zero working keys.

He had already talked to a dealer. They were willing to help, but only after he got the car to them. He could not get the car to them. Classic dead end.

I grabbed my bag, parked on the street, and walked down. Cut the replacement key blade to match his door lock on my portable cutter, programmed the transponder chip to the car right there in the garage with my equipment, and tested it. Engine started, no stall, security light went off like it should.

He drove out on his own. No tow, no appointment, no waiting. The dealer route would have been more money and required solving a logistics puzzle that had no solution. I just walked in with the right tools.

That is the whole job. Forty minutes in a parking garage, and the car was back.
