2008 Ford Taurus Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out at the Poway Business Park, a shop foreman called me in to clean up a job another locksmith had started and abandoned. The vehicle was a 2008 Ford Taurus, and the situation was already a mess before I pulled up.
The first tech had attempted to add a replacement remote head key. Somewhere in the middle of the programming sequence, the car battery dropped voltage. The immobilizer went into a fault state, the new key did not take, and the original key was now behaving erratically too. The other locksmith called it a dealer problem and left. The shop foreman was standing in a parking lot with a customer's car that would start sometimes and refused to start other times.

The foreman asked what went wrong the first time. I told him the battery issue was probably there before the first tech even started, and a jump pack is just part of the kit on any key programming job, not an afterthought. He said he would pass that along.
The whole thing ran about an hour and a half. Way less than a flatbed and a dealer wait would have cost the customer, and they had the car back the same afternoon.
