I was parked off the main stretch near Eden Gardens when the call came in. A woman had a 2000 Taurus, one key, and that key had snapped at the base of the blade. The bow with the transponder chip was still in her hand. The blade stub was somewhere inside the ignition cylinder. Not a great afternoon.

I tested both keys, cold-started the car twice, and made sure she had a working spare for the first time in what she admitted had been a long time.
The dealer conversation was something she brought up, not me. She said the tow quote alone was going to run her a significant chunk before they even looked at the car. Getting it handled in the parking lot, same afternoon, was a different experience entirely.
