A retired judge with a recent hip replacement at the physical therapy office near Libby Lake called about his 1999 Jaguar XJ. I used my HU92 Lishi to decode the lock and verify the blade, then connected through OBD to diagnose the fob fault. His fob, FCC ID , had a corroded CR2032 battery that had leaked onto the PCB. I cleaned the board, replaced the battery, and re-registered the fob to the KVM. I showed him how to check the battery compartment so he'd spot corrosion early next time.
He didn't have to leave the building. Total was $168. Dealer quoted $356 plus the problem of getting there with a walker.
