I got a call from a guy over in Alpine Village, parked in his driveway, Range Rover sitting there completely dead to him. Not dead as in battery. Dead as in he had a key, turned it, heard it crank, and then it quit within about a second and a half. Every time.
He had already been to a locksmith the week before. That locksmith programmed the remote. Buttons worked, doors locked, he paid and sent the guy on his way. I plugged in, ran through the enrollment with the existing working key present first, then registered the new key. Cranked right up and stayed running. He sat in the driver seat for a moment longer than necessary, like he was waiting for it to die again.
