It was a Friday night in Carmel Valley, close to 9pm. A couple had walked out of a restaurant to find their 2010 Mazda 6 sitting completely dark and unresponsive. The fob did nothing. They drove home that Friday night. The dealer would have meant a tow, a weekend wait, and a bill that reflected all of that. When the right parts are already in the van, a 9pm Friday call runs exactly like a Tuesday morning appointment.
