I got a call out to Alpine Village from a woman who had already paid another locksmith to fix her 2014 Mazda 6 fob. Paid him, watched him leave, and was still holding a key that barely worked.
It would start the car if she pressed the fob against the steering column. The four buttons did nothing. She described it exactly like that: "I have to hold it to the steering column like I'm praying."

I ran the full keyless programming sequence, both the transponder and the remote registered clean, and walked every button. Lock, unlock, trunk release, panic. All four, all working. Then I tested detection range in her parking lot, not just a foot away, actual distance.
She asked me if the other guy had just rushed. Probably. I told her I'd rather take the time and have nothing to explain later.
She saved a good chunk compared to going back to the dealer to have them sort out someone else's work.
