2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in Bressi Ranch, the parking lots fill up early with the work crowd. I got a call from someone on a tight window, maybe forty minutes between a morning meeting and a client call, who had a Lancer that stopped reading her fob.
She said it happened slowly. The range got shorter over a few weeks. Then one morning the door handle wouldn't respond at all, and the dash threw a key-not-detected warning when she finally got inside using the emergency metal key tucked in the fob. She'd already swapped the CR2032 herself, which was the right first move, but it didn't change anything.
I pulled up while she was still on a call. Ran diagnostics while she wrapped up. The fob battery she'd installed was sitting slightly crooked in the tray, just enough to drop the voltage the module was seeing. I reseated it, cleaned both contact points, and cycled through the system to confirm the fob was actually pairing correctly and not just appearing to.
Then I walked every function: door lock, unlock, the full button set, and handle response on both sides. Everything came back clean. No new fob needed. No programming fee. Done before her next call started.
She mentioned she'd looked up the dealer appointment window earlier that week out of habit. Two weeks out, plus she'd need to arrange a way to get the car there since it was her only set of keys. The math on that was easy to walk away from.
