2012 Nissan Armada Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
The call came in from a woman parked in Del Mar Heights. She was at the end of a long day, keys in hand, and the Armada just wasn't responding the way it should. The door handle wasn't waking up, the fob felt dead, and she was standing in the lot wondering if this was going to turn into a tow situation.
It wasn't.
She mentioned she'd looked up my license before calling. Said a friend had hired an unlicensed locksmith once and the guy disappeared after the job with no way to follow up. She asked to see my van before I touched anything. I showed her. License number on the van, on the receipt, and I walked her through exactly what I was going to do before I did it.
The fob itself was the issue. The CR2025 was reading low, and one of the battery contacts had a slight bend from an older battery swap. Once I got the contact straight and seated a fresh cell, the door handles came back. Range came back. Every button function checked out.
She asked if she should get a spare programmed while I was there. That's almost always the right call on an Armada this age, because an all-keys-lost situation on this system takes longer and costs more than adding a spare when you already have a working key present. We got it done on site, right there in Del Mar Heights, in about forty minutes total.
The dealer had quoted her a number that made her pause when she first called around. What she paid me was a fraction of that, and she left with two working fobs and a receipt that had a real phone number on it.
