2010 Nissan Murano Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a woman in Casa de Oro, Spring Valley. Event planner. She had a 2010 Murano sitting in a venue parking lot that wouldn't respond to anything -- no door unlock, no start, nothing. The push-button just blinked at her. She had a loading window opening in under two hours and a catering situation that couldn't wait.
I was there in about 25 minutes.
First thing I did was pull the fob apart on the hood. Battery looked fine at a glance, but the positive terminal had a slight bend -- enough to give intermittent contact but not reliable voltage under the load of the RF burst. Reseated a fresh CR2032, cleaned both contacts, snapped it back together.
Then I connected through the diagnostic port to confirm the key's registration was still solid in the vehicle security system. It was. No re-enrollment needed. The fob came right back online once the battery was making proper contact. I walked every function: door handles, start button, lock and unlock.
She was moving the car out of the loading zone with about 90 minutes to spare.
She mentioned she'd called the dealer first. They told her she was looking at a tow, a wait for an appointment slot, and then whatever the shop schedule allowed. She didn't have that kind of time, and she didn't need any of it. The fix was a battery terminal and 25 minutes on site.
