2017 Nissan Murano Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a delivery driver parked at a shop off Bernardo Center Drive in Rancho Bernardo. He had a story before he had a question.
He'd already called one of those $39 Google ads a few weeks earlier. That locksmith showed up, took a couple hours, charged well over four hundred dollars, and left him with a key that would start the car but had dead buttons. No lock, no unlock, no liftgate. He'd been manually unlocking with the emergency blade every day since and was done dealing with it.
He found me through Google Guaranteed and asked me straight up how he could verify I was actually licensed before handing over any more money. Completely fair. I gave him my BSIS license number on the phone and told him to pull it up on the BSIS lookup while we talked. He did. We kept talking.
I got to him within the hour. The issue was clear once I plugged in: the previous operator had only enrolled the transponder side and never completed the remote function registration. The immobilizer saw the key fine - that's why the car started - but the body control module never learned the fob. Half a job, billed as a full one.
I cleared the incomplete registration, ran the full programming sequence for the 5-button fob, and walked every function before I closed my laptop. Lock, unlock, liftgate, panic - all of it. Then I had him test it himself, because he'd been burned once and I wanted him to be the one who confirmed it worked.
He paid exactly what I quoted. Not a dollar more. He mentioned the dealer had given him a number that was nearly double what I charged, and at that point he just laughed.
