The other one needed to actually be replaced. I programmed a new fob on site, registered it through the OBD port using the diagnostic equipment, and confirmed the immobilizer recognized both keys. Tested every button, confirmed both fobs started the car, and made sure the emergency blade in the new fob matched the vehicle.
