Eden Gardens, on a Monday afternoon. A home inspector called me from an apartment carport off the main stretch in Solana Beach.
He had a 2009 Titan and a dead remote head key that would no longer start the truck. He told me he already tried the dealer. Wednesday was the earliest they could see him. He had inspections booked Tuesday and Wednesday, and towing the truck in meant canceling both days.
He had the original fob, which still had the right battery. The issue was not the remote functions. The truck would not crank. Inserted the key, turned it over, nothing. He was back on the road that same afternoon. The dealer would have been Wednesday at the earliest, plus a tow he would have had to arrange himself. He mentioned the dealer quote when I was packing up. It was a lot. He saved a good chunk coming with me, and more importantly he saved two days of work.
