2023 Subaru WRX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Del Mar Village sits close enough to the coast that the salt air gets into everything. I think about that every time I work on a car that lives outside down here.
A travel nurse on a 13-week contract called me on a Monday. She had her WRX parked in an apartment garage just off the village and needed a second smart key. She had already called the dealer. They told her Thursday, earliest, and that she would need to tow the car in because she only had one working key. She was scheduled for a Tuesday morning shift at the hospital and was already pricing rideshares for the week.
I pulled up to the garage that same afternoon. The WRX was tucked into a corner spot, which made getting to the door lock comfortable enough to work. I connected my programming equipment, ran the Subaru smart key sequence, and registered the new fob to the vehicle. Cut the emergency blade, tested lock, unlock, proximity entry, and confirmed engine start. Every function, before I handed it over.
The whole job was done before she had finished the coffee she brought out for me. She drove herself to work Tuesday. The dealer quote and the tow fee stayed in her pocket.
