2025 Subaru WRX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was already running a job near Montgomery on a Saturday evening when the call came in. Couple outside a sushi restaurant, 2025 Subaru WRX, completely dead fob. Neither of them knew the backup start procedure. They figured the car was going to sit there until Monday when a dealer could look at it.
I was maybe fifteen minutes away.
The fob on these takes a CR2032 and I keep a stock of them alongside the correct replacement fobs in labeled drawers behind my seat. I don't order when you call. When I got there, the fob battery was completely gone, not just weak. Swapped the cell, walked them through the backup start procedure so they'd know it going forward, confirmed the door handles were reading the fob correctly, and checked every button before I called it done.
They were back on the road before the restaurant closed for the night.
The dealer option would have meant leaving the car on the street, an appointment on Monday, and a wait that almost certainly would have stretched into the afternoon. When the right parts are already in the van, a Saturday at 9pm is the same job as a Tuesday at noon.
