2010 Acura MDX Remote flip key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

At The Collection at RiverPark in Oxnard, a detailer had a 2010 Acura MDX boxed in between two SUVs and one missing key.

The original 4 button flip key, FCC ID N5F0602A1A, had vanished somewhere in the shop. This generation MDX, 2007 to 2013, uses a remote head key with a Philips ID46 chip and a HON66 blade. No push button start on these. Old school ignition cylinder with an immobilizer ring around it.

He needed it moved before the owner came back.

I decoded the door, cut a fresh HON66 to code series K001 to N718, and generated a new key. The board inside these remotes is stamped B00001001A, runs at 313.85 MHz per the FCC filing, and takes a CR1616. After cutting, I plugged in and registered the new transponder through the immobilizer. On this platform, all keys lost requires an immobilizer rewrite. No ignition dance will program the chip.

The green key indicator came on for two seconds and went out, exactly what you want. Fired right up.

He moved the MDX, found the original later behind a shelf, and now the customer has two working keys. Dealer route would have meant ordering by VIN and waiting. We handled it on site and kept the day moving.
