Out in Nyeland Acres, I got a call from a woman who had been dealing with a key-not-detected warning on her 2011 ZDX for about two weeks. She had already gone to the Acura dealer in the area.

Swapped it out, seated it correctly, and then walked the whole car. Driver handle, passenger handle, start button pickup, all four buttons on the fob. Everything came back exactly as it should.

She did not need a new fob. She did not need a dealer appointment, a parts order, or a second visit. She needed a fresh CR2032 and someone willing to check the whole system before recommending a replacement. The dealer comparison never even came up. She just asked me why nobody had told her to try that first.
