A woman staying near the Wildwood Mesa Trail area in Thousand Oaks called me one evening about her 2001 Audi Allroad. She had tried swapping the battery in her flip key herself. Remote came back instantly. Lock, unlock, trunk, panic, all four buttons responding clean. The passive ID48 transponder side had never failed, so the car started the whole time with the blade. She just could not get in without setting off the alarm.
The whole thing took about fifteen minutes. No programming needed, no new key, no tow. She kept looking at the fob like she did not trust it yet. I told her to give it a day. It was not going anywhere.
