Got a call from a guy near Downtown Carpinteria area. Retired judge, daily drives a 2020 Genesis G70. He had a fair question before I even touched the car: what happens if this fob stops working in a month?

I decoded his lock cylinder with my HY15 Lishi and cut a fresh emergency insert blade on site. Then I pulled the factory PIN through the OBD-II port and programmed his new TQ8-FOB-4F16 smart key using the Hyundai/Genesis PIN-based registration procedure. The G70 runs a Hitag3 128-bit AES transponder on the SMARTRA3 immobilizer module, so the PIN handshake has to be right or the car will not talk to the new fob at all.
Tested all four buttons: lock, unlock, trunk, panic. Tested push-button start. Tested passive entry on driver and passenger handles. Then I sat there for five minutes and tested everything again, because intermittent issues sometimes only show up after the fob goes idle.
He watched the whole thing from the hood. When the engine caught on the first press, he just looked at the dash like he was waiting for it to argue. It did not.
