I jump-started his 12V to prove the point. Suddenly the car saw both keys fine, doors locked smooth, everything worked. Told him straight up he needed the ICCU replaced under warranty, not a new key. Even wrote down TSB 24-EE-003H so he'd have ammo at the dealer.
He asked what I charged for the diagnostic. Told him nothing, just remember me when he actually loses a key. Two weeks later he texted that Hyundai replaced the ICCU free under the recall campaign 24E069000.
