I was out near Ventura Harbor on a Saturday when the call came in. Guy had a 2025 Palisade sitting in a parking lot and one fob that was behaving strangely. It would unlock the doors fine, but getting the vehicle to recognize the key at the start button was hit or miss. He'd already had someone else take a shot at it.

What the previous guy had done was a partial job - one fob was enrolled but the immobilizer handshake hadn't completed cleanly, so the vehicle security system was only partly recognizing it. The start button would catch it sometimes and miss it others depending on fob position.
I cleared the partial enrollment, ran the full registration sequence, and waited out the security access timer. Once it cleared, both functions came back solid: door recognition at the handle and clean start-button response every time.
He asked what the dealer would have charged to sort out someone else's incomplete work. I told him probably more than the original job cost him, and he'd have had to tow it there first.
