Stiff ignitions on older Lexus SUVs are a call I get regularly, and the dealer always pushes a full cylinder replacement. The TOY43 ignition on GX470, LX470, and older RX and ES models wears down after 15 or more years of daily use. The wafers loosen, the key catches, and the owner starts forcing it every morning.

A customer at the Pilates studio near Upper Village had been fighting her 2003 Lexus LS ignition for a month. Some mornings the key turned clean.
