Out in Dos Pueblos Canyon in Goleta, an elderly widow called about her 2010 Lexus LS. Getting to a dealer was more than an inconvenience. I decoded her door cylinder using a TOY48 Lishi, cut a fresh emergency blade, and connected to the OBD port to register the new fob through the certification ECU. The 2010 LS uses Texas Instruments' DST80 protocol on the 128-bit Texas Crypto transponder side, so the registration has to go through the diagnostic port. No workaround, no ignition dance.
While the system did its thing, she told me her husband used to wash the car every Saturday in that same driveway. Small detail. Stayed with me.
