Out near the Ventura River Trail, a guy with a 2018 V60 had zero working keys. Push-to-start, no ignition slot, car sitting there like a brick. He had his family with him and was already looking up tow trucks when he called.
I drove out with my ACDP bench setup. On P3 Volvos, all-keys-lost means pulling the CEM and reading it on the bench. You cannot skip that step. The immobilizer data is encrypted in the EEPROM, and until you extract and decrypt that data, the car will not accept a new fob. Period.
I backed up everything before touching a single byte. Full EEPROM dump first, then generated the new key data from the secured read, wrote the CEM back, and finished registration through the OBD port. His replacement fob, the 6-button KR55WK49266 with part number 30659495, paired on the first attempt.
He hit the start button and the dash lit up clean. No warnings, no faults. He just sat there for a second with his hands on the wheel like he was making sure it was real.
The dealer route on this would have meant a flatbed tow back to town, days waiting on a key order through VIDA, and a bill that makes your eyes water. He drove home instead.
