2006 GMC Savana
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2006 GMC Savana Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A property manager over in Crest was running maintenance routes across a townhouse complex in El Cajon. The 2006 GMC Savana was her daily workhorse. She needed a spare for herself and two more for the maintenance crew, and she needed it done without leaving the van sitting somewhere for half a day.

She called the dealer first. The quote she got per key, times three, added up fast. And they needed the van dropped off. She's the person everyone calls when a water heater goes out or a tenant locks themselves out. The van staying at a dealership was not an option.

I met her at the complex late afternoon. The Savana uses a straight mechanical key, so the work was cutting duplicates off the original. I decoded the blade on-site and cut three keys right there in the lot. Each one went into the ignition, turned over, and came right back out working.

She handled two tenant calls while I was set up at the van. By the time the third key was tested, she had labeled all three for her crew. The dealer comparison came up briefly. She just shook her head at the math.
