Moonlight Beach parking lot, late afternoon, a woman waving me down from next to a white full-size van. She drove beach shuttle runs out of Encinitas and had been operating on one key for longer than she could remember. She kept the new key as her daily and put the old one in the glovebox as the backup, which is exactly backwards from how most people do it, but it made sense for her situation.
