Yes. For a full smart key replacement on the 2023 Ridgeline, we program the fob to the vehicle's immobilizer so the engine will start, and we verify all the remote functions before leaving. The emergency blade inside the fob gets cut to your door lock as well. We test everything on site - start, lock, unlock, and fob detection at the door handle. Start by wiping down the handle area and retest. If it stays dead on one or both doors but the start button still sees the fob, you're looking at a handle or wiring issue, not a key or immobilizer problem. That's a separate diagnosis. If the fob detection is failing everywhere including the start button, then we're talking about a different repair path involving the fob or the antenna system.

I lost both keys to my 2023 Ridgeline. Can you still make a new one without a working key to copy from?

It takes longer than an add-a-key job because without a working fob present, we have to go through the immobilizer reset process using the diagnostic port, which involves a timed security sequence. Once that's done, the new key gets enrolled as the registered fob for the vehicle. Bring your ID and have the VIN ready - it speeds up the front end of the job. The old lost keys get wiped from the system in the process so they can't be used to start the truck if someone finds them later.
