Out in Alpine Village, I pulled up to a driveway where a woman was standing next to her 2000 Hyundai Accent looking like she had already made peace with a tow truck call.
The key fob had seen better years. The rubber on the buttons had worn down to almost nothing, the plastic shell was cracked along the seam near the blade pivot, and the emergency blade had a little wobble when it extended. She paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted for a whole new programmed fob. The electronics she already had were good. She just needed someone to look at the actual problem instead of selling her the full replacement by default.
