If a fresh CR2032 doesn't clear it, the next thing to check is whether the fob was ever near something that could have disrupted its programming - a strong magnetic field, certain RFID-heavy environments, or a situation where the vehicle security system lost sync with the key. That's less common but it does happen.

If the warning stays after a new battery and the fob starts behaving intermittently, the fob itself may need to be re-registered or replaced. That's a quick diagnostic on my end and I can tell you on site what's actually going on rather than guessing.
