2015 Hyundai Accent Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I was parked off Westwood near the shopping center on a Tuesday afternoon when the call came in. A woman had locked herself out of her 2015 Hyundai Accent in Rancho Bernardo and her fob had stopped responding entirely. No lock, no unlock, nothing. She had already tried pressing the buttons harder, which I appreciate for its optimism.
When I got there she handed me the fob like it was evidence. The battery was original, still reading some voltage on a meter but weak enough that it would not push a signal. I swapped in a fresh CR2032, reseated it clean, and the fob started working again before I even handed it back. She stared at it for a second like she was waiting for it to change its mind.
But I did not stop there. The 2015 Accent uses a separate blade key with a transponder chip for the ignition. Remote and transponder are two different systems on this car. I tested the key in the ignition to confirm the immobilizer was reading it correctly, because a fob that works for door locks but a car that stalls on startup is a different problem entirely and I wanted her to leave with a complete picture, not half a fix.
Everything checked out. She had a fully working key and fob again. The dealer had told her to bring it in, and their earliest availability was four days out.
