2008 Infiniti G37 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

San Diego Country Estates sits up in the hills east of Ramona, and the roads out there are long and quiet. Not the kind of place where you want to be figuring out your key situation at the end of a day.

I got a call from a G37 owner out that way. She had one working fob, it was starting to act up, and she wanted a spare before she ended up with nothing. Smart thinking. The fob she had was intermittent, sometimes slow to unlock, sometimes the door handle touch sensor wouldn't wake up right. She'd already swapped the CR2032 battery herself, which was the right first move, and it helped a little but didn't fix the hesitation.

When I got there, I checked the existing fob first. Battery contact looked fine. The issue was the fob itself, worn from years of use, and honestly just time to add a fresh one alongside it. I pulled the vehicle's security data through the diagnostic port, enrolled the new fob, and confirmed both keys were recognized by the system. Tested start on both, tested all the buttons, walked both door handles to make sure the touch sensors were reading the fob at normal range.

The intermittent behavior on the original fob mostly settled down once the system had both enrolled cleanly. Sometimes a re-registration pass helps the older fob behave better too. I showed her where the emergency blade was hiding inside the housing, because she had no idea it was there.

She paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted her for a single key. Two keys enrolled, done in her driveway, and she was back inside before the sun dropped behind the hills.
