The intermittent behavior on the original fob mostly settled down once the system had both enrolled cleanly. Sometimes a re-registration pass helps the older fob behave better too. I showed her where the emergency blade was hiding inside the housing, because she had no idea it was there.
She paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted her for a single key. Two keys enrolled, done in her driveway, and she was back inside before the sun dropped behind the hills.
