2004 Infiniti Q45 Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out in the Bayside area of Imperial Beach, I got a call from a dad whose 2004 Infiniti Q45 remote head key was coming apart at the housing. The plastic around the blade had stress cracks running toward the button panel, and he could feel the whole thing flexing when he grabbed it. He knew what was coming.
His schedule had no room for a dealer visit. His daughter trained at a gym four days a week and he was the only ride. The dealer told him to drop the car off for a few hours. That answer did not work for a single-car household running a kid to practice and back.
He called me instead. I met him in the parking lot near Bayside at four in the afternoon while his daughter was inside on the beam.
I decoded his lock mechanically so I had the cut data, then transferred the working electronics from his cracked housing into a fresh shell and cut a new blade to match. The transponder and remote were both tested after programming. Lock, unlock, trunk release, all four buttons. The key started the car clean on the first try.
He was leaning against the Q45 scrolling his phone when his daughter walked out. She asked if they could get smoothies. He said yes. She had no idea there had been a problem at all, which is exactly how it should go.
The dealer quoted him a wait plus a half-day drop-off. He saved a good chunk and never left that parking lot.
