He'd been gone four days on a consulting trip. Parked at the airport lot, rolling his bag out, already running through his to-do list. He clicked the fob. Nothing. Clicked again. Nothing. The 2011 Frontier just sat there.

The key had never lost its pairing with the truck - the battery dying just killed the signal before it could wake the system. No reprogramming needed at all.
He was on the road home before noon. The dealer wait would have been two days, plus towing on top of it. He told me he almost just rented a car and came back for the truck later.
