A woman was staying at an Airbnb over in Bonita and called me on a Sunday evening. She'd flown in for a long weekend, rented a car, and somewhere between the airport and the house the fob had stopped responding reliably. By Sunday it was completely unresponsive. Bent the clip back, dropped in a new CR1632, snapped it shut.
Tested the doors. Touch unlock on the driver handle was back. Start button saw the fob from normal distance. Ran through all four buttons. Everything worked.
She didn't need a new fob, didn't need programming, didn't need a tow. She needed someone to actually open the thing and look. She made her flight.
